PGBh hosts Digital Bohol Summit

Digital Bohol SummitThe Provincial Government of Bohol, in partnership with the City Government of Tagbilaran, Bohol ICT Council, Bohol Chamber of Commerce and Industry and other local ICT-BPM stakeholders hosted the Digital Bohol Summit today and on October 15, 2016 at MetroCentre Hotel and Panda Tea Garden, respectively.

The forum talked about countryside development, e-innovations, digital economy, IT-BPM growth and prospects, Information Technology and Business Process Association of the Philippines (IBPAP) service management program, Rural Impact Sourcing (RIS), and creative design.

Moreover, the forum tackled about Tagbilaran City’s vision for urban growth and resilience, the models of growth for creating Next Wave Cities, commitment for connectivity infrastructure by PLDT and Globe, and Bohol Tech 4 Ed project updates.

On October 15, there will be different breakout sessions regarding the next wave cities compliance, academe’s role in talent development, and further sessions about RIS Philippines and Tech4Ed.

A highlight of the event was the launching of the Digital Bohol Project in coordination with OCEANS 16 (Open Collaboration with East Asia New Champions) Summit organizing committee.

The organizers of the said summit aim to rise up to the challenge of building a really strong partnership between the national ICT-BPM players and local stakeholders and generating support in regaining Bohol’s position as an attractive location particularly the city of Tagbilaran as an ICT-BPM hub in the country.
