Gov. Chatto accepts IT BPM Challenge

TAGBILARAN CITY- Gov. Edgar Chatto is willing to take on the challenge to make Bohol as one of the next wave cities in the country.

Aside from willingness, the Provincial Government is ready to hurdle obstacles in order to make Bohol the next wave province in the country, Chatto added.

He highlighted a very clear target during the Forum on How to make Bohol an IT BPM ready province. The activity is timely because Pres. Aquino has just signed the Department of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Law also known as RA 10844.

The next wave cities program is one of the four pillars of the Digital Philippine’s Initiative. It is a collaborative project with the Information Technology and Business Association Of the Philippines that focuses on the Development of IT BPM eco systems in Regional cities in the Philippines.

Being a next wave city it will meet atleast 10,000 BPO jobs for Bohol in particular for Tagbilaran City.

Today can be considered as the jumpstart in the first of hundreds of meetings between the Provincial Government, the City Government, the Bohol Chamber and also other working lines agency and the respective sectors to reach that “MOONSHOT” the experts like Leechiu Property Consultants that can help us to achieve the 10,000 jobs by 2017.

The forum was also attended by representatives from the City of Tagbilaran, Bohol Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI), and the Bohol Information Communication Technology Council (BICTC) with Leechiu Property Consultants, Inc. (Bethyl Faith Alo)
